Who is responsible for your data
The MetaCar referrer programme is operated by MetaCar (metacar.my). Any questions about this notice, or any request under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, can be sent to the contact address published on metacar.my.
What we collect about you
When you create an account we record the sign-in identity you use — a Google account, a Facebook account, or an email address and password — together with your email address.
To pay you we ask for your full name as printed on your identity document, your MyKad or passport number, your mobile number, and the state you are in. You may also add bank details so commission can be transferred to you.
We record every lead you submit, the status it reaches, and the commission calculated from it.
Why we need your identity document number
Commission is income. Your MyKad or passport number identifies you for payment and lets MetaCar meet its tax reporting obligations. It is never shown to other referrers, and it is not used for marketing.
The details you submit about other people
A lead contains another person’s name, phone number and, if you provide it, their email address. You confirm when submitting that they agreed to be contacted by MetaCar about that enquiry.
MetaCar uses those details only to contact that person about the service you referred them for.
Who can see your data
MetaCar operations staff can see the leads you submit, your name, and your contact details, so they can work those leads and pay you. Your identity document number and bank details are visible only to you and to the staff who process payments.
We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Account, lead and commission records are kept for as long as the programme relationship lasts and afterwards for the period required by Malaysian tax and accounting rules.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to limit how it is used. You can update most of your details yourself on the Profile page.
